In 1991, Peralta left the company, and Powell continued producing skateboard equipment under Powell, Bones Bearings, and RollerBones. They later reunited to create Powell Classic. George Powell's interest in skateboarding was reignited in 1974 when he discovered the benefits of urethane wheels. He started making his own skateboards and wheels, leading to the establishment of Powell Peralta in Santa Barbara. Stacy Peralta managed team and advertising, creating the legendary Bones Brigade in 1979.
